Healthy Eating & Weight Loss

Have you ever seen a skinny person eating Rivitas, sticks of celery or cottage cheese? No, neither have I!

If you want more of something in your life, a good starting point can be to look at those who have got it already and model them - and that's the same with losing weight and healthy eating.

If you were to ask naturally slim people about their eating habits they would probably agree with some or all of the following:

I can almost hear you say “that's all very well for them but what about me I'm human!!”

Have a look at the list below to find out which apply to you:

Why do people put on weight?

  1. By eating too much
  2. By binge eating *
  3. By eating the wrong foods
  4. By eating too late at night
  5. By not exercising enough and regularly
  6. By eating when bored
  7. By eating to compensate for a bad day
  8. By eating to compensate for something missing in life
  9. By eating as a reward

If any statements between 1 and 5 resonate with you, it is likely you have some habits in place which support you in putting on weight and keeping it on.

If you connect with any statements between 6 and 9, it is likely that you are eating when you don't need to because of how you are feelng emotionally and not because you are actually hungry.

* Binge eating could be a symptom of a more serious eating disorder. If you have concerns that you have an eating disorder or if someone else has commented on this to you, then you seriously consider seeking professional help, from your doctor in the first instance.

Knowing how you maintain your weight as it currently is the first stage to making the changes you want.

Healthy Eating Program - Using an eclectic approach with Hypnotherapy and NLP.

How many sessions will I need?

This will depend upon the reasons behind your weight and eating. Allow between 2 and 4 sessions, it may be a few more or a few less. I will have a better idea once we meet for the initial consultation.

How does it work?

Combining Hypnotherapy and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) which are both individually recognised as highly successful ways of changing people's behaviours and perceptions.

One of the reasons why hypnosis and NLP are so effective is because they remove the unconscious triggers which could have perpetuated your old habits and ways of thinking.

Hypnosis is a different state of consciousness which you can naturally enter so that, for therapeutic purposes, beneficial corrections may be given directly to your unconscious mind. In the case of weight loss, these corrections change your relationship to food and activate inner resources.

NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming) is the advanced use of language as well as a series of change techniques that also facilitate rapid change.

Why is hypnosis so successful?

Other approaches to weight loss rely wholly on will power which can be mentally exhausting because you are battling against your unconscious mind.

Hypnosis boosts your existing will-power and provides you with alternative ways of thinking. With hypnosis there is less to battle with - because the triggers that used to support your old habits and ways off thinking will no longer have the same effect.

NLP provides ongoing tools that can be applied to any aspect of your life - not just healthy eating. During the session you are taught how to use several of the most effective NLP techniques.
